Meet the Artists

Explore the artists who curated and created the local works featured throughout Glenwood Place. From Thomas Sayre’s distinct sculptural style to Autumn Cobeland’s pieces highlighting our very own Crabtree Creek access to the Raleigh Greenway, these thoughtfully placed works create a curated experience for every visitor.

Ollie Wagner uses mixed media to evoke emotion and feelings of vibrant nostalgia in his works. With a background in oil and acrylic painting, his use of photographic elements, collage styles, and performance art showcases the range of his creative intuition. His piece, “Untitled,” displayed in Residences Glenwood Place, is a continued expression of this artistic brilliance.

Morgan, a Chapel Hill native, started his career with small-scale graffiti projects and worked his way up to larger mediums, interpreting graffiti as an art form in murals and other large-scale installations. His piece deconstructs the typical text-focused approach to graffiti art and pays homage to the connections. Take a peak at Morgan’s mural in the 3700 Glenwood gym amenity the next time you’re at Glenwood Place.

Eddie White began his career as an artist in Virginia, with a background in painting and screenprinting. While continuing to work as a skilled home builder and craftsman, Eddie honed his skills in large-scale sculpture-making, leading him to create engaging pieces like those displayed in the lobby of 3700 Glenwood. The large stainless steel sculptures are the first thing visitors see when entering the building. “Silver Spring” and “Boca Manta” are representations of his skilled craftsmanship.

Modern artist Jonathan Brilliant with a textured sculpture, highlighting craftsmanship and creative design

Johnathan began his artist career in Charleston, SC, and began hosting exhibitions and participating in showcases across the world with his “Sticks Will Travel: World Tour. “Suspended Vessel” was created using more than 30,000 wooden coffee stirrers, part of a series of works using found materials and only tension and compression to create intricate patterns realized in sculpture form.

Raleigh-based sculpture artist Matt McConnell creates large-scale installations that aim to enhance the spaces in which we live, work, and play. His multi-colored installations in Glenwood Place, titled “Woven,” “Helix,” and “Hague,” draw the visitors’ eye to their DNA-like composition and create a focus on the center of the park. The largest piece of the installation is situated in the center of the roundabout, anchoring the park to this large-scale installation.

Autumn, a Raleigh native and accomplished muralist, created a series of Greenway-inspired works showcased throughout the office buildings at Glenwood Place. Highlighting the Crabtree Creek entrance to the Raleigh Greenway at the back of the park, this piece reflects Grubb’s dedication to preserving and enhancing natural spaces. The original artwork is displayed in the Grubb Ventures office, with prints featured across the property. A portion of the proceeds from print sales supports a fund benefiting the Raleigh Greenway system.

Dan Gottlieb, an accomplished photographer turned printmaker, shifted his focus to art during the COVID pandemic. Before this transition, he spent years refining his craft as a photographer and museum director. His dedication to creating unique works is exemplified by the vibrant flags displayed around the Glenwood Place roundabout and the dream-like imagery prints displayed in 3700 Glenwood.

Linda Ruth Dickinson is a self-taught artist born and raised on the island of Taiwan to Midwestern American parents. Her pieces explore the relationships between Eastern and Western trains of thought. Her sister pieces, “Sage & Devotion,” are featured in 3700 Glenwood and create a visual illusion of the relationship between thought and action.

Clark Hipolito is a multifaceted artist and designer based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since founding The Art Company Inc. in 1994, he has created original artwork and murals and designed award-winning commercial interiors. His pieces have been featured nationally on television and in movies, but his piece “Blue Abstract” can be found right here in Glenwood Place.

Notable for his “Tectonic Tides” mural at 3800 Glenwood, Brown’s art explores themes of personal conflict and choice. His fine art background and public service inform his dedication to fostering community connection and dialogue through his impactful murals.
